Nike Has it Right

This is probably my 5th blog I have posted somewhere in cyberspace. First it was Xanga, then it was Blogspot, though I am proud to say I never joined live journal (although I'm not against it).

So beyond purgatory. Originally the title was Unrestricted, in honor of my fight against the word 'single' which for me carries a huge negative connotation. Alas, all the addresses were taken.

You know what, instead of going into this history lesson (although feel free to ask), let me explain what I mean about Beyond Purgatory. I think too many people are caught in this limbo, this mediocrity, a luke-warm incubator regarding any plan of action. Constantly between two books to read, two places to go, two positions to take, two people to date, one or the other, going back and forth but being (bluntly) too lazy to make a decision. I do not want to downplay the stark reality of having to make decisions, of having to choose between options, but I wonder: are the compiling lists of "To Do Before I Die" or even "To Do Before 5pm" due to agonizing life-determining decisions or an unwillingingness to commit, take action, or contentment with having (or fear of losing) options?

I challenge that we need to go beyond our man made Purgatory. This won't necessarily be a theme of the blog, in fact if it's anything like its creator (that's me, by the way), it'll be quite random. But it is a recent challenge I have posed to myself. All of us are facing the inevitability of the sands running out. What grains have fallen with no weight, or maybe the tremendous burden of regret?

Beyond Purgatory. Where will it take you?
